Stainless steel wire is widely used in industry and favored by users due to its high cost performance, high temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, anti-static and long service life.

So how do we choose stainless steel wire in our daily life?

The selection of stainless steel wire mainly includes two aspects: material and wire diameter.

1. About Materials. At present, the stainless steel wire we often see in the market is made of 316 stainless steel wire, 304 stainless steel wire, 201 stainless steel wire, etc. How are they different? 316 stainless steel wire and 304 stainless steel wire are very high-quality stainless steel wires on the market. These two kinds of stainless steel wires have very good corrosion resistance and long service life, but 316 stainless steel wire is better in corrosion resistance. The corrosion resistance of 201 stainless steel wire and 202 stainless steel wire or high precision steel wire will be much worse, and their service life will be much shorter. The service life will not exceed five years. Generally, rust corrosion will occur in less than three years, and rust will occur in one year. However, the price of this stainless steel wire is much cheaper than that of 300 series stainless steel wire.

2. The diameter of stainless steel wire is also an important factor for selection. Although the thinner the steel wire diameter is, the higher the requirements for the steel wire material and processing technology are. However, the thicker the stainless steel wire is, the safer it is. The tensile and shear resistance must be much better than the thin steel wire. When consumers choose to protect children's products, 2.0mm steel wire diameter is enough to achieve the purpose of protection. If they choose to guard against theft, thick steel wire is much better.
